The Process to Become a TA (Review and Revise In Development)

Please review these policies regularly to ensure your compliance and eligibility as a MAT TA. MAT TAs must be free of conflicts of interest that might prevent them from serving the FFPI ethically. The FFPI reserves the right to revoke any person’s TA status if they fail to adhere to company guidelines and requirements.

Complete your MMT Certification

The first step to becoming a MAT TA is completing the Master Myoskeletal Therapist (MMT)® certification. To preserve your MMT® certification, you must complete 8 hours of MAT CE biannually and maintain your state massage license and liability insurance. You must be in good standing with the state massage board where you practice.

Get a Recommendation

Next, Kim or a MAT educator must recommend you for a TA position.

Provide the Following Materials

After receiving a recommendation, you must provide Kim with these materials:

  • Write a paragraph detailing why you want to be a TA for the FFPI.
  • Role-play a Video of yourself approaching a student who needs help with a technique or is performing the technique incorrectly. What will you say to assist the student?
  • Demonstration Video of yourself (you can use your phone) demonstrating these three techniques:
    • side bending
    • the Iliosacral twist
    • the sacral roll and decompression.

*Guidelines for the demonstration video: The correct hand placement and proper technique rhythm are essential. As you demonstrate the techniques, explain – as if to a student – the purpose of the technique (e.g., this is for addressing restrictions in the neck); your body position relative to the client (e.g., I’m standing on my client’s right side, etc.); and hand placement including fingers, and thumbs or other contact points. Demonstrate the technique as if you have encountered a restriction and are seeking to correct the restriction. Please demonstrate each technique for 30 seconds to one minute.

Send your submission materials to Kim at [email protected].
Kim and the educator that recommended you will review your materials and determine whether you are a good fit for the TA role or need more time and experience to develop your skills. You’ll receive a response from FFPI within two weeks of submission.
